Social Bookmarking

Well I've spent a couple hours already working through week 7. Folksonimies are much easier to understand than taxonomies and I'd like to see Dewwey made redundant at least in public libraries. Like a few other participants Technorati didn't search plnsw2008, though I did find bookmobiles. I can see the benefits of delicious and tags, but don't know that I have the time to get into this in a huge way right now. Most of my friends and family are 40+ or simply busy raising young families with both parents working to spend too much of our precious leisure time glued to the net. Work wise this would be a great area for our reference & IT staff to develop further. I've created a delicious account & added my bookmarks. Like a lot of the technologies used in Learning 2.0 the I'm not able to download the toolbar icons. I've added a link to my delicious bookmarks.

Videos & Embedding

I love Youtube - so much fun! Week 6 had to work through on a laptop as our council blocks access to Youtube. Having trouble embedding a video from Youtube.

Wikis

The video clip has been removed. I was surprised that an agency like the CIA would have a wiki, albeit accessible to selected persons only. The most useful applications for libraries could be booklovers review wikis and maybe a reference wiki.
